Dragged into Turbolasers Bonus Episode: New Eldar models in 2022!

The Eldar in 2022!

In this episode we are joined with an old high school friend and Eldar fan, to talk about the newly revealed Eldar model range. We discuss the new renditions of many Eldar classics, like the Avatar of Khaine, and Phoenix Lord Maugan Ra, and speculate on what might be coming in the future.

Ossiarch Bonereaper Challenge: WIP entries

Rogue Trader Era Eldar - Tony Hough

We started a Ossiarch Bonereaper Challenge at the beginning of February, encouraging anyone interested to try to convert an Eldar model using pieces from the Age of Sigmar Ossiarch Bonereaper model line. We recently finished converting our entry into the challenge, and have begun the painting process. Excitingly, there has been a lot of interest in the challenge, and we have gotten quite a number of entries! In this post, we wanted to feature all of the current work-in-progress entries, broken down into Eldar and non-Eldar conversions!

Ossiarch Bonereaper Challenge: Eldar Conversion Finished

The crime is life, the sentence is death.

Late last month, we began our Ossiarch Bonereaper Challenge, encouraging anyone interested to try to convert an Eldar model using pieces from the Age of Sigmar Ossiarch Bonereaper model line. There has already been a great response to the challenge, with a bevy of atmospheric models. We will be featuring pictures of these on our blog shortly, but in the meantime, you can follow peoples’ work with #bonereaperchallenge on Instagram. In this post, we wanted to show the completed conversion for our entry in the challenge, a macabre fusion of many different aspects of Eldar imagery.

Ossiarch Bonereaper Challenge: Eldar

Rogue Trader Era Eldar - Tony Hough

The Polysmith built an Eldar Gladiator a little while back that captures some of the alien weirdness of the Eldar that was present in the old Rogue Trader imagery. Its elongated limbs really help to illustrate that it is not just a human with an oversized helmet, but a truly alien creature. Ever since seeing that model, we have wanted to try our hands at creating a model in the same spirit, but were not sure where to start. When the Ossiarch Bonereapers were released for Age of Sigmar, it occurred to us that they would be a great, albeit unconventional, basis for such an Eldar conversion. The bone warriors would allow for us to create armor that looked organic and ossified, as if made from wraithbone.

Conversion Corner: Blackstone Fortress Eldar Ranger

Now I know where snipers come from.

Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress is filled with a lot of excellent models; I was a little disappointed with the Eldar Ranger due to her awkward pose and over-sized weapons. After playing our first game of Blackstone Fortress, the barrel of her rifle broke off, and we decided it was the ideal opportunity to convert it more to our liking for Conversion Corner!

Codex Eldar: Digital Edition Review

Finally a codex released on a device other than the iPad!
One cannot deny that Games Workshop has released a lot of Codex books since the release of 6th edition in June 2012.  Five released in a little under a year.  I, like most of you, have been thrilled that they are updating the armies so quickly.  But with this rapid release schedule, GW’s proof-reading and testing has taken a back seat.  Almost every book is released with an accompanying FAQ on day one, changing point costs and rule wording.  This makes the physical purchase of one of their books a bit frustrating.
