Resin Casting: more Rebel Grot molds

Several Got Away.

After finding a host of old GorkaMorka Rebel Grots, and converting one of them, we wondered which to convert next. To make this easier, I decided to make some simple one-piece cut molds so I could create resin copies of the models. I also decided to create molds for the recent Chaos Cultist and Rebel Grot conversions. In short order, I was able to cast a variety of grots for future projects!

To start making the molds, I simply glued each model to a resin gate.

Two of the completed molds, after the silicone cured. Since the original models were metal, I was able to carefully break off the gate I glued the models to. This makes it easier to cut the mold open.

Two of the first few casts from the molds. They came out very nicely, with crisp detail and minor mold lines.

Some additional resin cast Rebel Grots.

The Chaos cult came out quite well too. Being in resin, the model will be easier if I want to do any additional conversion work.

I am really pleased with how the molds came out, effectively making nice casts of some classic Rebel Grot models. I am excited to start cutting some of them up to create more Grots for Da Revolushun!
