The Unforgiven: MKVI Tactical Space Marine

The MKVI “Beakie” models have come a long way since Rogue Trader.

In a quest to continue to paint more Dark Angels, following up painting a MKIV Space Marine, I finally got around to painting the new MKVI Space Marine that we converted a little while back. As always, I used the same scheme I devised when initially painting my Dark Angels Kill Team, replying primarily on Caliban Green (Citadel) and mixing in Glacier Blue (Vallejo Game Color, 72.095) for highlights.

The model was quite simple to paint, only really using green, silver and black.

The silvers were primarily painted with a few different Vallejo Metal Color paints.

Despite being released as a Horus Heresy model, I painted the model in 40k Dark Angel colors, including using a decal from that era.

  1. Fantastic - your work on the bolter is quite an improvement on the original. These are probably the best of all the Space Marine models IMO and I'm going to have to end up getting some. You've done a great job on this one too!
