|The newest Necromunda gang!|
This episode is focused on the newly-released Delaque gang for Necromunda. We talk about the quality of the models’ design, emphasizing how they scale with other models in the range and Warhammer 40,000 in general. We ponder why their firearms were designed to be so massive, and how it runs counter to the thin, stealthy look of the rest of the models. We also talk about how the models could be used on conversions and discuss one we are working on currently.

An excellent episode as usual, gentlemen. I largely agree with your thoughts, though looking at the pictures in comparison with other models I would not pick these up, they are too big (tall). They also break the Primaris scale marines (that didn't take long!) and to be honest I don't think it should be encouraged! Your conversion looks great though, but how can it be used.. it can't stand next to a Primaris without looking very tall indeed--like Lurch, or an NBA player--and it frankly looks utterly ridiculous next to the Cadian (which, let's remember, is head and shoulders bigger than a comparable historical miniature).ReplyDelete
Anyway, hope to see more of your work with this kit and how you overcome these issues.
I also enjoyed the unboxings on the Youtube video so I'm happy to see more of that sort of stuff.
I'll see if I can work out discord but I don't know how useful that'll be because I don't often paint new figures--mainly older stuff. I'll put up some thoughts about the HEroes when I get them though! ;)
I am glad you liked the unboxing stuff! We will try to get a better mount for one of the cameras soon, to be able to do it live better. It would be great to see you on Discord. It would be an easier way to chat too; there is no need of it to just be about new models.Delete
The scale of the Delaque models is really interesting. They are a lot taller than the Cadians and even a little taller than the GS cultist, however their hands and feet are smaller (more like FW Imperial Guard). And while I admit they are tall, approaching Primaris size, they are still smaller. The fact that the Delaque models are standing up straight, where virtually no other GW models are (including the Primaris) really exaggerates their height I think. With all this said, it will still be difficult to just "fit" these models into most armies. They certainly do not work alongside "normal" Space Marines, he he.
I do take the point about the standing/crouching thing but they are still too tall, and whether it's due to the pose or not they still just look "wrong" when standing next to a Primaris marine, in my opinion.ReplyDelete
I signed up for Discord...let's see if I use it! :)
