Between the Bolter and Me is about to finish its 9th year as a blog! Like the previous year, 2021 has still been defined by the pandemic. Despite this, it has still been a productive year, continuing our Twitch streaming and podcast. As the year comes to a close, we want to extend our best wishes to all of our readers this holiday season! Special thanks to Dave Higgins for digitally coloring the card!

First, each of us look back on our favorite personal hobby projects of the year. Then we transition into discussing some of our favorite Games Workshop’s releases during 2021. Finally, we close out the episode by setting some hobby goals for 2021!

32, Episode 2: War of the Orks

Quite a different direction from the Black Library.

I am happy to say that Alex and I were able to record the second episode of 28’s podcast, 32! In it, we discuss the contentious topic of the children-friendly Warhammer Adventure books, having both read the 4th entry into the Warped Galaxies series: War of the Orks. Last year I created a few tutorials for converting smaller scaled weapons, including a Space Marine-scaled plasma rifle. Despite being really happy with the result, I never actually built a Space Marine to wield the firearm. Eric recently painted a Kill Team of Dark Angels without any special weapons, so the plasma rifle would make a great addition to the warband. With this in mind, I quickly modified a Primaris Intercessor to look like a traditional Space Marine, to fit with the rest of the Kill Team!
