Conversion Corner: Arco-flagellant revisited

Holy to the Lord.

In 2019, I started converting an arco-flagellant due to dissatisfaction with the models Games Workshop produced. Since then, I have felt more work could be done on the model to further differentiate it from the Blood Bowl Wood Elf model on which I based the conversion. Recently, I decided to revisit the model and add more detailing, mainly in the form of scars on the model and modifying their boots. Rather than painting the model myself, I am excited to say that we are sending the model to Matt (squared_paints) to paint as a collaboration!

Further work was done on the mask worn by the arco-flagellant, adding a worn iron halo and additional bionic eyes.

I added a few attachment points for the chainsaw arm and exhaust ports using brass tubing.

To the back of the model, I added a small device to administer combat drugs to the arco-flagellant. Instead of individual syringes commonly seen, I wanted a smaller, more compact device with a rotating cylinder of different drugs that can be administered as needed, depending on the engagement. Additionally, I sculpted a series of ports on the knuckles of the model’s right hand, suggesting some hidden blades.

I further modified the boots the arco-flagellant is wearing, adding more noticeable heels and brass Imperial Eagles.

I took extra effort to add small scars all over the body of the model to give a sense that they have seen significant action in their service.

The Blood Bowl elves are massive in scale, but the larger stature makes sense for an arco-flagellant conversion.

So we hide our eyes and wonder who'll survive.
