Dragged into Turbolasers 94: The Kroot stalk into Kill Team and Warhammer Underworlds wishes it was Mordheim

In this episode, we chat about some of the new models Games Workshop previewed at the Summer Skirmish preview. We focus primarily on their showings for Kill Team and Warhammer Underworlds. In the first half of the episode, we discuss the excellent looking Kroot warband alongside the surprisingly disappointing Imperial Navy Breacher models. In the second half, we shift to talk about the Hexbane’s Witch Hunter warband for Warhammer Underworld: Nethermaze. In addition to talking about the quality of the sculpts, we also touch on how they will be excitedly received by the Mordheim community.

  1. Good episode as usual gentlemen. I agree with most of your comments.

The Kroot models are pretty nice overall and it's good to see them get some attention again. I don't like the bow, it doesn't look like it actually has any purpose, but otherwise the models generally look good.

The Imperial Fleet troopers are pretty disappointing, a missed opportunity as something really cool could have been done with them. Instead they are at best completely uninteresting - something you wouldn't normally associate with 40K generally - and at worst egregiously poorly designed. As with the Orlocks I don't think there's really even any conversion potential with them.

Overall, I like the witchhunter models though the one that looks like a Mordor Orc is strange and doesn't fit the vibe, and the poorly posed woman just looks ridiculous.

Very interested to see what you end up doing with the Kroot models though!

    1. I really hope this is the start of more Kroot models in the future, but if not, it will still be enough to convert one or two.

Like you said, the Imperial Fleet models are impressively bad and completely uninteresting as you said.
