GorkaMorka: Scrap token conversions

Land of Some Other Order.

For the last few months, we have been converting and casting Rebel Grots in the hopes of eventually playing GorkaMorka again after many years. When looking through boxes of our old things, we found our old trukks and halftraks. To our delight, we also found a trio of scrap tokens we had made in the late 90s. In GorkaMorka, Orks fight over collecting pieces of scrap metal from their crashed space hulk, intent on repurposing it for their own ends. We thought this was the perfect opportunity to create a set of new tokens for future games!

Three of the original scrap tokens we created when Gorkamorka was first released.

One of the old Ork trukks piled with valuable scrap.

I opted to create six different scrap tokens because, from what I can tell, the different scenarios rarely use more than six.

Each scrap token was created with a random selection of plastic components from a range of different kits (including a piece from one of the original Gorkamorka trucks and a piece from a Battlefleet Gothic ship!).

For some of the scrap tokens, I created twisted-looking sheet metal using the foil from the top of a wine bottle.

I used modeling putty to create some variations in the ground and how it interfaced with the scrap metal. To add additional texture to the ground, I painted them with some GW texture paints (Stirland Mud and Martian Ironearth) in a random fashion.

I added skulls to two of the scrap tokens, one an ork and the other a human skull.

These tokens are ready just in time for our first game of Gorkamorka in years! The Rebel Grots will soon begin scouring the desert wastes for riches and glory!
